An MFA from Illinois State University enabled me to pursue a career as an artist and instructor in studio art. As an artist/teacher I taught at Auburn University, Eastern Michigan University, Winthrop University (South Carolina) and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My art as been in over 30 collections and 200 exhibitions and garnered an “Alabama State Grant in Painting”, a residency at the Millay Colony for the Arts, and a summer residency at the McColl Center for the Arts. During my time at the McColl I discovered how to integrate digital video into my paintings and video installations. My video works have been featured in 40 screenings and film festival including “Spaces”, Its Liquid: International Art and Architecture Festival, Venice, Italy (2018) and, “9th Pune Short Film Festival 2019”, Kothrud Pune, Maharashtra India.
